Dunlap Towing Company is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

 

 

ASSISTANT PORT ENGINEER

 

Description:

Seeking an experienced, motivated individual to support the Port Engineer in the maintenance of tugs and barges.

 

Experience:

5 years minimum repairing and maintaining ocean tug boats. Sailing experience as Chief Engineer preferred.

 

Qualifications/Competencies:

Can plan and manage the repair of vessels, including managing a crew, working with vendors, classification and regulatory agencies, etc.

Can work independently, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, and can work as a member of team, side-by-side colleagues of all positions.

 

Other Requirements:

Office hours Mon-Fri 0700-1530

Available 24 hours a day to field questions/concerns regarding vessel maintenance/repairs.

May travel on short notice.

 

 

 

MARINE ELECTRICIAN

 

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of vessels’ critical electrical equipment to within a good marine standard.

 

Qualifications: 

Experience with 3-phase.

Vocational training or equivalent experience in electrical maintenance.

Physically able to board tugs and barges.

Requires working in confined spaces.

Ability and willingness to work independently with little guidance.

Ability and willingness to work well alongside others as part of a team.

Journeyman level experience preferred.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maritime Experience a plus.

 

 

Hours:

7:30AM – 3:30PM on Everett Waterfront

OT as required.

Competitive pay and benefits.

Pay negotiable based on experience.

MARINE AB/COOKS

Minimum Qualifications: Valid MMC with AB endorsement, and TWIC.

 

 

CHIEF ENGINEER

 

  • Valid MMC with minimum DDE 500GT
  • Valid USCG Medical Certificate (with valid STCW date)
  • Valid Transportation Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience sailing as sole engineer

 

 

LICENSED MASTER

 

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • 500 GRT Master of Towing Near Coastal, Oceans preferred.
    • Medical Certificate STCW and National.
    • STCW with all required endorsements (including but not limited to: Master, AFF, VSO)
    • First/Aid/CPR training certificate.
    • Hazwoper training within 90 days of hire.
    • State Driver’s License.
    • US Passport.
    • Permanent residence in Washington or Oregon is preferred.
    • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
    • Experience sailing as Master five year minimum.

 

Experience sailing on the West Coast, Hawaii, and Alaska

 

 

CHIEF MATE

 

  • 500 GRT Master of Towing Near Coastal, Oceans preferred.
  • Medical Certificate STCW and National.
  • STCW with all required endorsements.
  • First/Aid/CPR training certificate.
  • Hazwoper training within 90 days of hire.
  • State Driver’s License.
  • US Passport.
  • Permanent residence in Washington or Oregon is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.

 

 

SECOND MATE

 

  • 500 GRT Master of Towing Near Coastal, Oceans preferred.
  • Medical Certificate STCW and National.
  • STCW with all required endorsements.
  • First/Aid/CPR training certificate.
  • Hazwoper training within 90 days of hire.
  • State Driver’s License.
  • US Passport.

MARINE AB

 

Minimum Qualifications: Valid MMC with AB endorsement, and TWIC.

 

 

HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

 

Description:

The Marine Diesel Mechanic will be part of a shore-side crew servicing and maintaining a fleet of tugboats. This position will be required to perform some additional duties outside of diesel mechanic to prepare vessels to sail. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Requires working in confined spaces, heavy lifting, and being able to board tugs and barges.

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Mechanical experience with understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and work independently.
  • Physically able to board tugs and barges.
  • Requires working in confined spaces.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently with little guidance.
  • Ability and willingness to work well alongside others as part of a team.
  • 5+ years of mechanical experience/knowledge performing diagnoses, repairs and maintenance on diesel engines – CAT, Detroit and Cummins preferred.
